Mining Bill (AB #426) passed the Assembly, moves on to Senate: The measures in this bill could severely impact our cold water resources here in Wisconsin.
What can you do?
1.  Write your Assembly person and let them know how much you value our cold water resources.
2.  Inform Yourself.   View Wisconsin TU's position on the mining bill HERE.   Check out the Legislative Council Memo regarding potential impacts of the bill HERE.   You can view the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters Talking Points HERE.  You can read the bill HERE (Warning: it's 183 pages!  But most of the changes are spelled out in the "overview" at the beginning).

Thur. February 16: Conservation Lobby Day - State Capitol, Madison, WI  12:00 - 5:00 pm.  This is your opportunity to voice your concerns face to face with your elected representatives.  More information can be found HERE.

Tue. February 28: SEWTU Chapter Meeting - Thunder Bay Grille, Pewaukee, WI  Dinner (optional) @ 6:00 pm, Meeting to start @ 7:30.  Our February presentation, titled "The Angler's Role in Battling Invasive Species", will feature Laura MacFarland of the River Alliance of Wisconsin.
